Reasoning behind stair stepping the roost?

I am new to constructing my hen house. On my chicken tractor I had one rail for them to roost on. As I look at other hen houses I see most of them have multiple roosts. I will only have a dozen birds so I am not for sure what the true protocol is. I want to make sure I do it the right way. Thank...

    How high (nesting boxes)

I have a chicken tractor where the nesting boxes are with the same level as the floor. Is there a certain height that they should be at in a regular hen house? Constructing my first hen house. Thank you for the help.

Chicken tendencies when its snowing outside?

After watching them off and on they seem to enjoy being in the snow. They seem a lot more active and my egg production has gone way up. Probably just a coincidence.

Chicken tendencies when its snowing outside?

My chickens are seeing there first snow, they are huddled in the yard of the chicken tractor under the lean-to that covers half of it. Is this normal? Is there anything I should do for them to get them moving or are they just fine? Thanks again.

The door on the back side is so I can scrape the chicken manure out and compost it. The Hen house is the same kind of pipe that is welded to the yard. There cover in the yard is peaked so the snow wont cave it in. Its the first one so its design is kinda rough. There will be a 2.0 version...

Square foot per bird in hen house chicken tractor

I will get them up. The pipe is not super heavy, its just drop pipe that was laying around. The hen house is on the back side that almost kinda creates a counter balance. If I had the proper wheels on it I could move it by hand on mostly flat ground but since I dont, gotta use the truck.
