    Serama Roo

Yes that's why I like them, they are so sociable!

    Serama Roo

Hi! I'm trying to learn more about raising seramas. This is purely a hobby and I'm not looking to show or anything, but I'm genuinely interested in knowing more about the breed and what makes a quality bird. The color classifications are kind of confusing to me as it seems there are so many...

    Is this a frizzle?

Just hatched my first seramas from my flock and I'm obsessed! One is 6 days old and the other is 4 days old. Does the little one with the most developed wings look frizzled? Dad is smooth feathered and mom frizzled. 110% obsessed with serama babies now😍🤣

    Flaky skin on chickens

Hi guys! I have a mixed flock of chickens that are showing some skin issues. My serama rooster has developed an "ashy" looking face, like dry skin. Two of my show girls have large areas of peeling dry skin on their necks (where they are naturally bare anyway). Everyone seems healthy, I've...

    Limping hen with swollen chest

Thanks for your reply! I actually think I was panicking and her crop just felt different because she hadn't eaten as much. The issue appears to be purely her leg, I suspect she injured it somehow. She's still eating and is otherwise healthy, just favoring the leg. I've separated her to keep her...

    Limping hen with swollen chest

Hi guys, I have a 4 year old Orpington hen who I found laying down in the yard this morning. When she stood up, she was limping, almost high stepping with the one leg. I can't find any signs if injury, but her chest up through her neck (not just her crop) feels swollen and squishy. She's eating...

    Weak Newly Hatched Chick

Okay so the little guy made it but still cannot stand. I've had experience with splayed legs, but his hips almost seem to stick out behind him instead of out, so he just falls on his face. He's eating a drinking and has the LOUDEST mouth on him, so I want to give him a chance. His toes were...

    Weak Newly Hatched Chick

Thank you! The little guy has a set of lungs on him so I'm hoping he hangs in there. One more has pipped so I dont want to open the incubator, but as soon as it hatches the little bulldozers that are in there with my weak one are getting taken out! :DBelow are the bulldozers.

    Weak Newly Hatched Chick

Thank you so much! This is great info! I did notice that when I put the eggs in lockdown certain ones felt much heavier than others..like they hadn't lost the water yet. I remember thinking to myself that could be a red flag. Now I know how important it is to weigh and mark air cells!

    Weak Newly Hatched Chick

Thanks for your input! I was dumb and just used the gauge on the incubator, but after researching it more it sounds like they can't be trusted. I suspect my humidity was too high early on in the incubation period-the eggs that hatched are 1-3 days late and all were developing well on day 18 when...

    Weak Newly Hatched Chick

Hi guys! I have a chick that hatched about 12 hours ago who is still unable to stand up in the incubator. He's still very messy and having a hard time drying off. He looks pitiful :(. It's my first time using an incubator (broodies for life, this has been so stressful!!🤣) and I'm not sure if I...
