Anyone painted their hardware cloth black?

It was a tin of ‘blackjack DPM’ paint that I had in the garage. It’s supposed to be used on floors that suffer with damp issues. I just wanted rid of the tin so thought it’d be a good use for it. It’s basically bitumin paint.

Painted mine with bitumin paint using an old roller. 2 years on and it still doesn’t need touching up. :thumbsup

Chicken run, do I need a coop?

A lot of people seem to advocate the idea. It’s even used in parts of Canada which sees much more adverse weather than the UK so it’s definitely possible. Chicken run, do I need a coop?

Yeah they’re layers. Like I say 3 bantams so far but I built a largish run so I could add to the flock eventually. They have free roam round the garden when I can supervise them. That’s what I thought too. I was just concerned due to the size would the birds struggle in the cold weather.

Chicken run, do I need a coop?

Hello, My chicken run is as predator proof as I can make it. 1/2inch weldmesh on the sides and roof. The base is concrete. I also have onduline roofing above the mesh on the roof to keep the rain out. I’ve have 3 bantams and have had them in the run with a homemade wood coop for nearly a...

    Electric poultry netting

Hello! I purchased 50m of electric poulty netting with the hopes to use it as a moveable run. In hindsight I wish I had purchased a smaller size. As it's a pain having to take it down and move it. I've now decided to use it on the side of the permanent run and keep the electric poultry...
