    Moving Nesting Box

My nesting box is not secured in the coop. I added another nesting box to the coop this morning. I think thechickenpeeps might be right after watching them this morning. I think they might be fighting over the box. It looked to me like my friend popcorn might be a little bit of a bully. Thank...

    Moving Nesting Box

I have 4 girls that are just over a year old. Just recently they have been moving the nesting box in the coop. And now they are starting to lay their eggs just outside the box and one egg is usually broken. Do I need to add another nesting box? Or just secure it to the coop?

    Who's laying and how often

I am a new chicken mama so any help is much appreciated. I have 4 chickens, from what I am told 2 are Delawares and 2 are Easter Eggers. They are almost 6 months old. I got my first egg on August 11th. It was brown so I am thinking it was from one of the Delawares. I have had several eggs...

Adding a single chick to the flock

This is two of my older chickens. I got them from tractor supply at the beginning of April. Can you tell me if they are male or female or one of each?

Adding a single chick to the flock

I have asked around but no one seems to have one about her age. If I would have known more about chickens I would have gone and gotten atleast one more. :(

Adding a single chick to the flock

I don't think that she is 3 weeks old probably more like 8 weeks. And the older ones are around 15 weeks I would think. I am located in Virginia. I did read that you can put her in a dog cage outside the run to try to get the older ones used to her. But it didn't say how long. So I put her...

My name is Laura. I am very much new to raising chickens. I had never been close to a chicken let at less held one. If I am totally honest until I got chickens I was scared of them. I got my first 4 chickens in March and have really enjoyed them and learned alot already.
