    Why do roosters crow?

My mom has been taking the rooster to the nursing home to visit. We hand raised him from a week old, so he is super relaxed. She just carries him in and he sits in her arms the whole time while people give him snacks All the residents tell her that they want to hear him crow. Last week she...

Looking for 1 pullet or hen - Alameda, California

One of our hens just passed away. We are looking for a young female. Idealy, we would like to rescue one. From my experience, it's not easy to find rescue hens. So, we would at least like to get a young bird from someone that hand raises them and gives them lots of love. So if there is anyone...

SF Bay Area - FREE White Silkie Bantam ROOSTER

Hi, We are in Alameda. We ended up with a bantam cochin rooster. Once he started to crow, we started putting him in a big box in the kitchen for the night until nine in the morning. So, he had never bothered anyone at 6 in the morning. I hate the idea, but if we were to find another home, he...

Must find a LOVING home for 1 bantam cochin rooster-BAY AREA CA

Quote: Actually, we have looked up the law and found out that roosters are not illegal. So we have decided to keep him and go to court if that jackass keeps calling the cops. We have proven the cops wrong. Every time this person called, they kept giving us a copy of the domestic fowl law which...

Ideas on how to use mint?

I know, it is taking over my garden! A great way to use it is to just put it in a pitcher of water and let it sit to flavor the water. I was at a resturant once and in the pitcher of ice water was mint, strawberries and rasberries i think. It was so good. I have to start doing that, my mint is...

    Depressed 18 week RSL Hen

Is she vaccinated? I don't know what else to say but take her to the vet. We had a beloved hen that was acting the same way (she was not vaccinated) and she died a few days later. I would keep her with you at all times, animals really do respond to that. They have more of a will to stay alive.

HELP! Something wrong with cat and we cant see vet!

The only way you can get him help is to take him to the vet. The only thing I can think of (if he is dying) is to surrender him at the pound and the vet there can try save his life. I really have no idea.

    Rest in Peace Girls

Thank you Isn't he? We have two hens now. The girl we adopted right after this happened, a black star and a partridge silkie we bought a few days ago. He is getting along with them so well. He is really a sweet rooster. He is very respectful of them and will offer them food. He has only tried...
