I have six Delawares and they are now six weeks old. Wow do they feather out quickly! So nice.
One of the "girls" has a much larger comb than the other five. What's the chance I have a rooster? Or do comb sizes vary in hens?
I know time will tell, but I'm so curious! Will try and post...

I'm so worried her little tongue gets dried out since it's exposed all the time.
I feed her yogurt, but only a little. She's still eating okay with the others. Not sure how long that will last.
She is second in the pecking order so...

Husband broke his own rule ... said they were too small for the shed, so they are in the house in the laundry room ;-)
Terribly cute. Ordered from a hatchery, came hungry and thirsty, but so far so good.

My husband decided we are keeping her regardless. He says she needs us and is happy with her flock-mates.
So we will make the best of it. I'm taking advantage of the situation and I'm going to bring her inside and feed her and play with her.

Well my chicks crossbeak is getting worse, just as everyone indicated it would. It's upsetting to watch. She is the second largest chick so far and holding her own, but at 4 weeks old, I'm worried about how bad it will get.
