Hawk attempt-how long do i wait?

I was a falconer in my misspent youth. They remember places they've made a kill. It makes sense, if a critter was in a particular spot, chances are there are factors there that attracted it that translates to others of the same species.

Feed the crows. They like peanuts.

Moved my chicks into their hen house today.

The Barred Rock chicks I got from Cackle Hatchery on August 12 graduated to their permanent coop today. It is an old coop that my son was using for storage. After cleaning it out, we patched it up, hung a roost, and moved a pen next to it for them. There is still work to do, but it will do...

    Solar system for winter

AGM will work in the cold, but you can only use 50% of their capacity without damaging them. I suspect the capacity is reduced in extreme cold also. You can get all the information you need at the forum listed above. Also check out Will Prowse's YouTube channel.

    Solar system for winter

You have to remember you're in Michigan. LiFePo4 batteries can only discharge to 4°F usually and can only be charged above 32°F. If you can't heat the battery or buy a heated one, I wouldn't recommend a solar system for your application. I would suggest going ti diysolarforum.com and spend...

Anyone trained their dog to stay away from chickens like this?

Well done. You may find he needs to be wearing the collar to remember the lesson. I jokingly refer to the collar as the dog's hearing aid. My Airedale listened much better when he was wearing it.

What kind of dog do you have!?

Airedales have a big personality, too. They have you bouncing between cursing and laughing. Luckily the laughing gets to be the major reaction to them. They can certainly be a hand full. They also, true to there terrier breeding, are diggers. Mine dug out and killed groundhogs on occasion...

What kind of dog do you have!?

I have three now, all rescues. From smallest to largest, half beagle, half chihuahua. Yeah, she has an attitude along with a great nose. She's ten. Rosie, the fox terrier. She's a special case. We've had her for ten years and she's still afraid of me unless I'm sitting. She was part of a...

What Dog Breed Do You Want Today!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

No one wants an Airedale Terrorist? They really are great dogs. I've owned 5 over the last 40 + years. Lost my last one this summer, hence the puppy.
