    I use pine shavings and alfalfa depending on what i have around the farm but they both work just find for me. Not a fan of the paper towels sorry

    If you are leaving your birds in the house or a safe place I would just go somewhere where they have boxes or free or buy some for cheap and just cut out a hole in between them, so they can interact with each other and it acts as one big cage.     At 2 weeks old i would just wait it out another two weeks or so. I've made a few mistakes in the past as well so know. i wait until there about 4 or 5 weeks old. This usually helps me out, but I still assume hen or roo before that 4 week mark.
