I'm late so someone else may have mentioned this already, but the 'bald belly' is her broody patch so the eggs can make contact with her skin for better heat transfer.
I just had a 6 month old pullet hatch and raise chicks. I only let her have 5 eggs incase she quit early or had terrible mothering skills, but I was dumbfounded the whole way through. The chicks are coming up on 5 weeks and she's still caring for them.
Taz has always been a bit of a brat, hence the name. Usually I'll give him a shove with my foot, if my hands are full; or pick him up a carry him around until he quits fighting to get away, then I'll let him go. It only happens once a month or so.

Oh BTW Buckbeak, the EE, is defiantly a cockerel. He's the sweetest male I have he doesn't come over for pets, but he doesn't run for his life when I go to pick him up.

That's good to know. These'll be the first chickens I'll be keeping that I didn't hatch or get as young chicks, so I'll probably be making lots of posts with questions, lol.
To me it's a sure sign they're integrated. So far this was the most difficult integration I've done since there was such a large age gap.
The next integration will be even more difficult with my friend's Jersey Giants. He doesn't handle his chickens so I'll have to get them use to me first...
Last night I noticed the incubator chicks (nearly 6 weeks old) were all snuggled in with the TSC chicks (nearly 13 and 14 weeks old) :love . I'll try to get a picture tonight.
