    One of my girls died :-(

    Found one of my original 3 hens dead in the pen this morning. Nothing indicating she was sick so I assume it was the 115-117 degree weather we have been having. Flock looks good.     $100 actually seems like an unbelievably cheap price to resolve a pretty major issue in my opinion. I thought you were going to say $100 a bird when I first started reading, which I would still feel very obligated to pay! If it was the other way around and her chickens somehow killed your dog...

    Should I warn my neighbors that we are getting chicks??

    I wouldn't say anything to them if you don't know them. I have a similar set up to you and the neighbors I do talk to found out only because of their kids hanging out with my kids. They think it's cool so far and they said they have never heard even a single cluck.

    Thanks everyone! The feed store takes back any of their 90% pullets that turn out to be cockerels. So I traded him out for 5 chicks....That's the chicken math I hear about I guess...After he pecked me the other day his days were numbered!
