Well then likely he will become garden compost. But he gets a second chance. He seems to be walking better now. We shall see. I'll be fine, but the kids will end up learning an important life lesson if Mads Chickelson does that again.
Less than a year old. We hatched them last May I believe. He gets uppity with me, but I usually just shew him off and it's all good. He normally hops up in her lap and is super sweet to her. This was kind of an anomaly. Right now I'm just focusing on his right leg and his limp. Don't want him...
That's my instinct as well. I'm just worried about his limp. We shall see. If he can't control his emotions though, it won't matter because I'm going to bury him under my garden. I'm hoping he gets better and we can train him better though.
Thank you. Materials are so expensive and so are larger prefabbed coops. Even Rubbermaid sheds have gone parabolic. I'm just going to start buying wood every payday like they are stocks, and build a large one. I have a feeling 10 chickens would just pile into the small white coop.
The rooster has never attacked the wife before. Happened today as I was driving home from work. She pushed him away with her foot. She said she did not kick him hard, only used her foot to push him back as he was in the air feet forward. He began to limp after. She feels horrible. Mads...
Thank you. I meet all those requirements for what I have, thanks solely to this forum. The question is can I use multiple coops or do I build one large one, which is not really affordable right now thanks to the price of materials. If multiple coops, will they segregate into the multiple coops...
I miscalculated the power of Oklahoma wind. They both got picked up and turned upside down and landed on the PVC half-shell I built to keep the hawks away. Birds made it no injury which is amazing since it happened in the middle of the night.
My first official post. We currently have 4 hens and one Ahole rooster. We are looking to get minimum 4 more hens for laying and possibly 5 more for broiling. Eventually I'm thinking 15 birds and a breeding program but that's far down the road. Current situation is I have 2 coops I got on the...
I do. I'm on my work computer so I can upload when I get home. My PFP is the result of my poor building coming into contact with the high Oklahoma winds. I've rebuilt though and Ill have pictures up.
I would like to introduce myself. I am a father of 3 daughters, husband to an awesome woman, and new found lover of rural life and chickens. I have been reading on these forums for about a year without signing up and posting. As my flock continues to grow, I know I will probably need to interact...
