Baby and her baby seemed fine this morning. Tho we couldn't see the duckling, it was peeping up a storm. Still only one has hatched, both mom's are dutifully sitting. We didn't candle the remaining eggs, so not sure if any others have pipped or not. We'll probably try this evening. Pretty sure... -

Thanks again Sylviethecochin. Your input is definitely welcome and appreciated. We haven't ever had a runner hatch, much less to broody. Will probably wait until it's quite little darker and shoo her off. Keep you posted! -

We handled them as ducklings quite a bit. One of the hens (Mama)stays still, let's me pet her. She'll eat mealies out of hand. The other; Baby, with the duckling will get vocal. She fluffs up her feathers and will yell when I'm about two inches away. I don't want to disturb so I back off. No... -

3 out of 5 guineas are male. One of which is rather aggressive. I've seen him and our runner drake fight. Lucky (the duck) protected his girls well, grabbed the guinea by the neck and flung him around. -

Thanks for sharing your experience! We try not to disturb any of the girls while they're on the nest itself. The one who's done the most sitting, (Baby). Had been getting off the nest a few times a day. We only just put food for the ducklings nearby. Other feeders and waterers are available... -

It's kind of odd they way it's done on their site. Our 'reservation' is the order? You don't pay upon making the res. But when you pick them up. Since it's a local farm she does pickup only. Either at meets or at her place. Since we aren't far we opted for farm pickup. Idk if you wanna take...
