    Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Hi Carolyn! Busy busy, always seem to be playing catch up with the farm, and we only have 12 acres. A get together could/would be cool, always depends on when it is, although I am more than happy to make an all out effort to attend. We offer pea shoots in our salad shares for our CSA yes. They...

    Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Evening Peeps! Long time no see. Busy Busy here at the farm, as always. The girls are starting back in to their laying cycles now that the daylight is returning (thank goodness). Hope to be around more, sorry I have been away so long.

It seems that the 68 sq. inches (the size of a piece of 8 1/2 x 11 copy paper) that are allowed commercial chickens, 24/7 lighting, chemical laced feed and never to be outside and see the sun or feel the rain is a better way to keep chickens.

Whatever works best for you. As inexperienced with chickens as I am, it will be interesting to see how you "handle" them. I will pm you with my cell and you can just call me when you have a better idea of if/when/how etc. thanks.

Nope. You can stew them, re-sell them, or whatever you wish.

    Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Evening, long time to speak, and all that. It seems that I have 2 roos that I would like to be rid of. One of a barred rock, and he is just plain mean, nothing more to say about that. The other is a Golden Laced Wyandotte who does not seem mean, but not tame at all. Both are 6-7 months old and...

Our coop is 8'x8' with open windows in each side, along with a full sized door that is open, and the door for the girls. This coop is attached to a enclosed run that is 8' x 14". There is a large pellet feeder inside and a 5 gallon waterer outside. We have 21 chickens. 10 of which are not old...

Our cats stay clear of our girls, we have no roo's here, but the cats know to keep there distance. We have another dozen 10 week old girls out there too and the cats show no interest at all. The dog has learned too, she does not like getting pecked on the schnizzle. Now every situation is...

0430 I went out, the girls I added in last night, were out and about in the run, peckin and generally just being early morning chickens, the older wiser girls were still in bed on the roost, ya know, it's raining, we're not going out there. I took out some scratch, some rolled oats, some bread...
