    Pendulous Crop? Surgery??

Thanks for all the help. I will try and isolate her again and withhold her food. I will try and get vitamins and antibiotics and see what happens. Her crop is easily the size of a softball and a 1/2 and getting bigger. I will keep you posted as to her outcome. I'm hoping for the best.

    Pendulous Crop? Surgery??

My girl had what I think was and impacted crop. I massaged it and fed her yogurt and coke and olive oil and everything suggested on the forums. Unfortunately I could never get anything of substance to come up. Now her crop is huge and swings as she gets around. She is totally healthy otherwise...

Crop is huge and feels soft and full of fluids not solid?

My girl seems to be doing much better. After lottsa TLC... ACV, coke, grapes, bread with olive oil, and massaging her crop she's back outside and we have our bathroom back. The mass is much, much smaller and she seems to be eating and drink now. I'm hoping that it doesn't happen again. Time will...

My Astrolorp has been lethargic for a few days and her crop is very large and feels like it is full of fluids. I've been massaging it and can hear fluid in there. Heated Water Base

I just got my heated base for my water and it says not to use an extension cord. I am going to use it in the run. Is it going to be an issue. My extension cord will be about 40 ft.

    Huddle Box pictures or ideas

Well it's already in the single digits here and I'm curious about huddle boxes or enclosures within my coop. What can I do to make an enclosure for them to roost in? Can I enclose their roost for the winter? How big of an opening do they need to get in and out? Will they peck at the silver...

Thanks everyone I built the nest box pics on post #16

Am I foolish.... it gets down to -30 here in the winter. Is it wise to have external nesting boxes? I'm trying to not lose floor space in my coop. Will my eggs freeze assuming my girls are laying over the winter??
