One duckling not moving as well

Update. She was very pitiful about the process, but I gave her the b complex directly. She seems better today. I added nutritional yeast to the flock raiser. I will give her another dose today at least to make sure she is on the right track.

One duckling not moving as well

And if I can't both catch her and get her to eat them? She and her mom were not happy. I could add a few mls to their overnight food which the chickens are unlikely to eat. I don't really have a good way to dose one duckling.

One duckling not moving as well

I am new to ducks. One of my hens hatched these ducklings. One of the four is always sitting down, even while grazing. Is it likely a naicine deficiency or possibly an injury or just a little slow in developing? Feed: flock raiser. They also forage. I also add duck boost to their water...

    Duck emergency

Vetricine and bluecoat are my go to's for bird injuries. My Roxie had her entire back torn open by an eagle. No feathers and an open wound from neck to tail. I cleaned and treated it multiple times daily. She'll never win a beauty contest, but she is perfectly healthy 5 years later. I am very...

When to give ducklings and their "momma" more freedom?

It is going to be cold all week. 40 degrees this morning. They are out and active. I have their food and water spread around the bird orchard. They don't seem to be upset about the temps. I will probably wait until next week to fill the tubs for them to play. It is hard to adjust to what you...

When to give ducklings and their "momma" more freedom?

Bed time was a clucking mess and Moon seemed very confused that her babies don't want to learn how to scratch, but overall it seems like freedom is what the birds needed. Since they have a chicken mom, I took away all the water bowls. I assume they shouldn't get wet. Should I be worried about rain?

When to give ducklings and their "momma" more freedom?

I can't really keep them separated from the other hens. My other coop and run has a ramp that isn't duck friendly. They have been in the hen house these two weeks with no conflict. Thank you for taking the time to respond.

When to give ducklings and their "momma" more freedom?

My broody hen has been diligently (mostly) raising the four ducklings she hatched. They are on the floor of my chicken coop with a board to keep them contained in their own area. They are two weeks old and doing very well. Even after raising many chicks and one gosling I can't believe how fast...

Unattended Broody Hen on wrong clutch

We have a broody hen that refused to be detered, so while the weather was still holding, we got some fertilized duck eggs for her to hatch. Unfortunately, I had to be out of town for a few days. When I went out to check my birds, she was on the eggs that were laid while we were gone instead of...

    Wobbly/tippy young chicken/pullet.

It is by itself in my garage, and the other two are still separate from my established flock and home raised peepers. I have gone over the chicken pretty thoroughly and discovered nothing, and I mean nothing out of place. It just can't seem to walk. I have not seen it move willingly; however, I...

    Wobbly/tippy young chicken/pullet.

So, one of our spring chicks turned out to be a cockerel and chicken math insisted we get three to replace him. At our local poultry faire, we found lovely Jubilee Orpingtons and got three fully feathered beautiful birds. They were shy and skitterish and so we pretty much just gave them their...

Long time reader, first time poster

Hello, We got chickens 3 years ago and I have checked this site frequently. Started with four in a little tractor, lost one, got three more the next spring. Had to upgrade to a larger coop and fence our orchard for their enjoyment. Now we added 4 more, one is definitely a cockerel, so we added...
