    There is plenty of room for everyone to run. (I pen them in separate areas at night). There is definitely some bullying but nothing violent. I had read several articles that said it is ok to introduce them to each other slowly at this age. Please let me know if this is not advised.

    Looks like Sunshine_Chick had it right! It appears to be an egg inside an egg, although nothing I'd want to eat! Pretty crazy!

    I cracked an egg open this morning from one of our backyard chickens and it had the oddest 'pit-like' object in it I have ever seen (see attached pic). The object was hard and about the size of an avocado pit. All of the hens appear to be healthy. Any ideas what would cause something like this...

    Weed & Feed

    I let my hens out to free range yesterday, not knowing that my husband had just put 'Weed and Feed ' out on the grass. They grazed in the yard for 3 or 4 hours before I realized it. My question: Can this harm them and to what extent? Should we discard eggs, and if so, for how long?
