Goslings making daily mess with water.

Oh yes, Muscovy are with dishes of water like cats are with boxes and various containers; if they fits, they sits. 😂😉 We had 5 of them years ago and I miss them dearly.

Goslings making daily mess with water.

I started off with the ice cream pail, but never thought to leave the lid on with a hole in it. Thank you so much!! Ah yes... Goose juice is... well, **interesting** to say the least. 😳😂

Seems to be working here so far too, so thanks for the tip! I put in a tall container and this morning the brooder is dry.

Goslings making daily mess with water.

I appreciate your response so much, because I honestly felt like I had to be making some massive beginner's mistake. It made me feel a lot better to know that I was not the only one who had this problem, so thank you!!

Goslings making daily mess with water.

Thank you very much for all of the tips! Everything I had read online previously said they needed access to water 24/7, so that is what I have been doing. It was actually a poultry waterer that they managed to drain just the other night! 🤦‍♀️ I have a tall pail in there now that they can drink...

Goslings making daily mess with water.

My goslings are making a mess of their brooder every night by draining all of their water out, and I am having to scoop out sopping wet bedding and bathe 3 gnarly smelling geese every...

Is it safe to let a hen nest with the rest of the flock?

I have a small flock; 2 Rhode Island Red hens, one Silkie hen and one Silkie rooster and they all live together. The Silkies have been mating for a while and now I have 2 Silkie eggs in the nest box. My question is do I need to separate the Silkies in order for them to try raising chicks (if...

    Emotional Healing After Dog Attack.

We moved their pen to a new area and redesigned the coop the same day of the attack so they could start over fresh without reminders of what happened. That and the coop was made for 10+ birds, now we were down to 2 and wanting to make it as cozy for them as possible. They spent much of the...

    Emotional Healing After Dog Attack.

He and my husband settled on a cash amount, which the dog's owner paid the next day. He said if it ever happened again to just let him know how much he owes us. But to me, money has nothing to do with it... it's the fact that they are irresponsible with their dog. It's a bit irritating when...

    Emotional Healing After Dog Attack.

I certainly will. It has been almost non-stop rain here since that terrible day, so my 2 hens have not ventured out of the coop much. So far they do seem to appreciate the company though and hop out to greet me whenever I enter their pen. Will keep you posted. :)
