The pole barn is at 60 F right now and I have for the most part removed the light, I am sure they will be fine on the warmer nights...just don't want them to suffer when it drops down below 36. Thank you very much!
Don't know about destroying the root system...unless you are worried about kids getting into it, still serves a natural function. BTW you will encounter people who swear they are edible, but all Mycologists agree that they absolutely should not be eaten. Nice morels though! I am envious!
I sell mine for three bucks a dozen, and can't keep enough on hand to supply everybody who wants them. I live in a very rural area but there are still plenty of takers. I make enough to pay for the chickens feed plus some...but not going to quit my teaching job any time soon lol.
Absolutely do NOT eat that, it is a type of false morel that contains a chemical compound that will build up in your system and kill you, some folks can eat them for years and then kick the bucket after one bite, others can't even eat one. Around here they are called beefsteak mushrooms or brain...
Hi everybody! So here it is...I have six ducklings (rouens and pekins) that are about 5 weeks old, they are getting to big for the brooder and I could frankly use the brooder space to split up my chicks as they are growing quickly too. I have built them an enclosure with a raised cedar house...
I am new here, but not to poultry. I wanted to do meat chickens as well as more layers this year; somehow I ended up with 25 chicks, six ducklings, and three bronze turkey poults in my pole barn workshop. Unfortunately it is still to cold here to even think about moving them outside any time...
