LOL! I've spent way too much time reading this thread. Some of these are so funny. Lucky for me I haven't had any ridiculous questions. I have come across a few people who love our chicken eggs or chicken eggs in general but refuse to even try a duck egg because they "come out of a duck's butt."...
Oh... I'm really sorry to hear that. What have you all tried feeding her? Or won't she eat anything? When one of our hens had sour crop really bad we fed her a mixture of yogurt (with live cultures), scrambled eggs and olive oil.
I wish I could help but I used the stuff in the tube. I wonder if you could crush it up and put it in some eggs or yogurt, or whatever you're feeding her right now. That's what I did with the cream.
There's a total of 6 hatchmates and the other 4 are fine. Would they all have it? And how would I go about finding out if that's what the other two have? Is a vet my only option?
Oh no! That's terrible! :( I really have no idea and hope someone can help you soon. Are there any plants nearby that they could be eating that could be poisonous to birds? I know there's quite a few out there that you wouldn't expect to be a problem. Are there any symptoms at all?

Here are two links I believe to be pretty helpful. Ours seemed to be more than happy to just have a few wading...
I have the same problem with one of my hens. She's only 5 months old. Number 1 and 2 sound exactly like hers. No bald spots and she hasn't laid any eggs yet. One of her hatchmates is also blind out of just one eye. So I'm wondering if in my case it was genetic?
We live in Michigan near Standish and my husband works a lot in Bay City/Auburn/Essexville and Saginaw.
We are looking for good homes for two Black Copper Maran Roosters (French Style). They were born March 11, 2012. We just have too many roosters right now to keep them all. We're asking for...
We use the BRAGG Organic (raw and unfiltered) ACV with the "mother" in it. We found a 16 oz glass jar at Kroger for $4 and some change. But Walmart carries it now in a much bigger jar and it's only $3 and some change. I've read to put one tablespoon per gallon. It's good for quite a few things...
It was gradual. One of her hatch mates are blind out of their left eye. I searched a lot online and just about everything said that they would be scratching their eyes, and that their eyes would be runny and swollen and so far none of those are the case. I'll have to search other causes and...
It appears one of our girls are blind. Both of her eyes have the cataracts look and she acts like she can barely see. I was just wondering, has anyone else had this problem and if so, do you have any pointers/suggestions?
I wanted to share this with everyone. One of our Black Copper Maran chicks had a bad case of sour crop. I'm pretty sure we tried every thing we found, minus cutting her open, and nothing worked. Massaging her crop and making her regurgitate was the only thing that helped a little bit. Even...
