Mine wont eat bananas, which stinks! They eat pretty much anything else, especially cherry tomatoes, grapes, and broccoli. toaday the got cous cous which they LOVE! Dont u have to worry about the chicken bones when u let them pick at a carcasss?
Just wanted to chime in here. I use poop boards and think they r good, only takes a min or two a day to scrape. Thanks to whoever suggested it here. I have seventeen hens and one roo. My coop is 8x8. GOOD LUCK AND HAVE FUN WITH UR GIRLS!!!!
You may not even have to give them oyster shell or any calcium supplement, unless you have fragile shells. All i give mine are layer crumbles and my shells are fine for now.
my black NJG roo just started crowing at bout 17 wks, he now 19 wks and hes starting to sound real good. he also defends the hens from my "OVER ANXIOUS" white rock roo.
I agree with city clucks. i have three pearl white leghorns. very flighty but not mean at all. dont know bout egg production, still waiting, they r 19 weeks.
I have a silver polish crested and an aracuana that sleeps on the floor of the coop in the corner snuggled together since the first time they were put in coop. They both seem fine.
Watch out for that roo. A lady at work was spurred by her roo under her knee cap and had to go to the hospital n get stitched up and put on antibiotics.
