Is there anyone in the Big Horn Basin area? I'm from Worland, currently living in Arizona and hoping to return home soon. I have 13 chickens that will need a temporary home until I can find someplace to live other than my sister's basement.
I'm very sorry if this thread has caused anyone's birds any harm. I'll see if I can contact the site admin. to have this thread taken down so I don't harm anyone else's birds.
According to the box that I used the suppository only contained: Gelatin, Glycerin, Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil Base...
She's not very skinny at all. I just weighed her and she's just over 7 pounds. I've had her in the house most of the day today and she seems to be eating, drinking, and pooping just fine, but she does seem tired.
She's an older hen, so she doesn't lay regularly. She does get in the nest box at least once a week, but I couldn't say for 100% sure if she is laying. I suppose I should isolate her to make sure.
Her abdomen does have a water balloon feel to it, but more of an over-full water balloon, it's not very squishy. The feather loss was caused by me. Her backside was quite messy so I gave her a bit of a bikini trim in order to get a better look at the problem area.

Check out the Tube Feeding Tutorial in post #4 of this thread: https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/628361/diary-of-a-crossbeak-support-for-special-needs-chickens-and-their-keepers It gives very specific instructions and might be helpful.
I have a hen named Honky for this very reason. Ever since she started growing into her "big girl voice" she occasionally honks, as if she were part goose.

My cross-beaker, Britney, has a partially dried out tongue too. It's almost like the tip of the tongue...
My girls ate most of a Styrofoam cooler once while I wasn't looking, they're fine. Granted, they ate it in small bites and not 2.5 inch long chunks, but it didn't seem to affect them at all. It will probably pass through her system without any trouble. Just watch her closely for the next few...
My 27-month-old rooster, Bus, has yellow spots at the corners of his mouth and on the roof of his mouth. His throat and tongue look clear. If it is Canker what are my best treatment options? I've read on another thread about treating with Fishzole, but I'll have to order some, so what should...
We dewormed her two days ago, and she seemed perkier this morning. So much so that I decided to clean up her butt a little bit. I put her up on the edge of the bed and began wiping her bottom with a warm rag. Then all of a sudden she squawked, coughed, started gurgling and flailing and died...
