Hello, they are good layers. They are here together with the Barnevelders and i use them for selling eggs. They lay the same as the Barnevelders. Only the eggs looks better they have the same as the Bielefelder speckled eggs.
Here are some new pictures i made today. I think onw just laid her first egg but i am not yet sure if it is from the mix or from the pure Barnevelder. I added one picture from these years Barnevelders as well. The rest are all from the mixes. I like how the boy is turning out.
See hereby a few pictures.
I posted more in the above thread.
These are a cross of a Bielefelder and Barnevelder. A Barnevelder Rooster and Bielefelder Hen to be exact.
They look really nice yours i love the colours of them. Here is a picture of one of the pullets. I just made the picture i will make soon some more pictures and as well of the cockerel i really like how he is turning out. They do not lay eggs yet. As soon when they start laying eggs i will share...
That is a nice looking one. I did not have a blue laced Barnevelder yet. I really do like them and actualy they are already a few years on the wish list. But until now i did not found a breeder who is willing to sell them as day old chicks.
I can agree on that one. It is now like most of the time the case as well with these mixed breed chicks. I had it as well before with other sex linked chicks.
They look beautifull i am really curious how they will look fully grown. Indeed with the lacing especialy on 1 hen the lacing came through. I see you have as well a Barnevelder chick walking around. I live about 15 minutes drive from the town of Barneveld where they originaly from.
That is correct. The one chick that is the rooster had as well a slightest headspot. Actually it was better to see on the pictures than in real. The pictured rooster chick is indeed second from the top and as well the fifth picture from the top.
Hello, it was actualy the same case for us. The rooster became at 4 week more clearer by growing a bigger comb. If i really start investigating the pictures maybe the hens had a better and more clearer chipmunk pattern at 1 day old but not a real big difference. We ended up with all the chicks...
I had a few years back exactly the same. And it was aswell with Bielefelders. For us it was the heating plate to low and it scratched there back open. And i can see you are using the same heating plate as me.
I always make sure they can touch the heating plate with there back but they dont need...
