Hi guys, so I have had a full batch of ducklings hatch recently and I haven't had issues with any, but this last one that has hatched won't open its eye and I was afraid maybe it wasn't born with one. It looked like it had some dried gunk on it from hatching, so I very gently wiped it off and I...
Hmmmm, well that is unfortunate. I was really hoping that your duck might recover fully. As long as she seems that she is eating and drinking well then, I guess it is better than it could've been. It could possibly be something else but I'm not sure.
I got home from school, and I smelled it and it smelled gross, so it was definitely rotten. In the future, so I'm a bit more prepared, what would be ways to avoid getting more rotten eggs and what causes them so I can better prevent them from rotting in the future?
Ok yes that will definitely help her, and it will be great for the other ducks too! It was good that you separated her from whoever was pecking at her and give her a few days with the brewer's yeast and hopefully you will see good progress! If you don't, I'm not sure what the issue would be, and...
She really is a beautiful duck I haven’t seen any quite like her! It might be weird but I absolutely love her feet they’re so cute!!! I bet she was a beautiful duckling 🐥
I would say, in my very non-professional opinion, that looks like a wry neck… one of my recent hatchlings had that and I was so scared. A few questions if you don’t mind… where and how old did you get her and when did her neck start looking like this? It’s very prone for ducklings to have this...
I would agree that the light one probably stopped developing but I would leave it in your incubator still just in case. I recently hatched my own baby ducks a week or two ago and I had one egg that I saw no movement or development in and I thought it was a goner and I cracked the egg open to see...
Hey guys so this is the first time I’m letting my duck sit on a clutch of her own eggs and I’ve candled them the last few days and they’re growing. One egg that she’s had in her nest for about three weeks now has turned completely solid-ish (like it’s fully developed and should start hatching...
