    I wasn’t able to get all of the infection out last night, and today the eye was horribly swollen, solid mass of infection all over her socket. We were able to remove most of it with forceps, except just a bit right on her eye. She needs more medicine, should I give her tylosin or doxycycline...

    6 days into her tylosin treatment, she has very little infection and the swelling is down. Of course she now hates me and runs up the hill to avoid me, but when she goes to bed, I get her cleaned up. I think it’s good that she’s feeling more feisty!     She’s looking better, less infection, more crusty than viscous and she’s acting more like herself. I’ll continue the tylosin for 7 days, cleaning her eye and using the terramycin, plus nutridrench in scrambled eggs. I’m hoping she continues her recovery!

    Hurray, my tylosin arrived today! I also ordered doxy as a backup. All the birds will be drinking the dosed water, which I think will be good as I heard one sneezing last night. Only 5 birds, none currently laying. I’ll keep you posted!

    Mornings seem better than evenings. This morning she has infection, but not much and fairly watery. Tonight large viscous globs were coming out. Flushing and adding ointment, it looked fairly good after that, but it’s definitely not getting better. My tylosin order seems to be hung up, now...

    It’s much better today, less swelling and infection. Maybe the meds are working? I cleaned and flushed her eye, you can hardly see it, pretty sunken. Her neck feathers are all stiff from drainage I think… she’ll need a bath once she gets stronger
