    Molting in Freezing Temps

Hi, I am in Kansas. Our set up is a pretty good one. It is a stick built shed that was converted into a coop. It is probably not as fancy as some but it is good. the photo attached is not the coop, but is built similarly. Both birds did fine last year, but hey were not quite a year old then...

    Molting in Freezing Temps

I have one girl who waited to start her molt until we were due for subzero temperatures and another with a bald spot from over mating. I cannot keep a saddle on her. I am concerned about the exposed skin. Is there something I should do? Or will they manage?

    Possible Illness??

I was wondering if it could be frostbite. It hasn't been too long since our last freeze.

    Possible Illness??

I noticed it yesterday. But I am going to say days, maybe a bit longer.

    Possible Illness??

All of them have been doing that. The heat, I think. Today is much cooler and no panting. I was wondering if it could be frostbite that hasn't healed from the last really cold days we had. We went from freezing to hot!

    Possible Illness??

This is Cinnamon. I noticed her comb is black on the front and is changing from bright red, to almost a bacon color. Does this mean something is wrong with her? She seems okay. She eats, she drinks, she gets into mischief.

    And these are?

These are the others I am not sure about. My other hens I know what they are, but these I can only guess. But they are pretty girls and very curious.
