I love the technology integration. I've been thinking of putting a wireless cam inside our coop and adding it to the hose surveillance system. Would be great to see what the chickens get up to while we're away ;)
Your brooder box design looks great - spacious digs for the little guys!!
I can't speak to Phoenix birds, but we have easter egger bantams that we've been feeding raw sugar snap peas from the garden. They love them and show not ill effects (we've been eating and loving them, too!)
This is an interesting idea. We have a dog water bowl that works on a similar principle. It is a miniature ceramic toilet that uses a 2 liter water bottle inverted in the "tank" that continuously fills the "bowl" with enough water to keep it at a drinkable level for the dogs. What I think is...
Love the design. What's the blue thing under the waterer in the second to last picture - something to keep the coop floor dry?
I hope your nest boxes start filling up soon!
hdowden, I'm glad to hear you think 7 is a pullet. At least we have two that put the "egg" in easter eggers.
I also have a short video of our flock milling around this morning. Maybe the body language will help cement your pullet v. cockerel opinions.
hdowden and pele, thanks for sharing your insight, though I'm disheartened to hear that you agree with my darkest fears about the sex of my chickens. Also, thanks for ID'ing them as easter eggers, not Ameraucanas - noted. Some more pics that may help...
