Mine showed Improvement and I returned her to the flock in a week. She went right back down hill with the crooked neck in just a few days. I had to pull her back out for about five weeks. She is doing great now. I think I returned her way too soon. I followed Alan Stanford recommendations...
Okay, I researched niacin, which is a good from of B complex, and Selenium helps the body to absorb the vitamin E. I have read that the vitamin A in the Ply-Vi-Sol, will cancel out the E, so I shouldn't use that. This is all very confusing, I have read so many post trying to figure this out...
I think I found my answer, looks like 50 mcg once a day. Since I do not believe any head injury was involved, I am not doing the prednisone.

I have 12 week sick silkie, have narrowed it down to wry neck. I read to give it selenium but I am unsure on the dosage. I bought 100 mcg capsules. Can someone tell how much to give? I am also giving 400iu of Vitamin E and Poly-Vi-sol. anything else I need??
Silie seems to be more alert, head is up more, but haven't seen it eat yet. Scramble eggs and yogurt are still sitting there. how long should I leave them in cage before they go bad???
Heading to the store with my list, is there anything I should pick up?
Selenium (50mg) this will help the chick absorb the vitamin E
Vitamain E - 400 mg gel caps
Poly-Vi-Sol - no iron
Niacin - not sure what this is for yet, need to research
Yogurt
Eggs
