    I don't know what's going on with my chicken's rear end. She does not seem to be in distress and is still laying eggs though not as much as the others. Any insight is appreciated!

    Rehome Rooster

    I need to rehome my rooster asap. He is 5 months old, beautiful, and nice to the hens. He is also very protective of them. Very submissive to my husband, but has started to try to chase me and my children. Our coop is small and we just do not have the space for him. Please PM me for details...

    Well everyone....its confirmed, I have a rooster! Here he is! So far he's really sweet......hope he stays that way! Still I wonder what breed he is? Anyone know? He sure is pretty though!

    I "thought" they were Rhode Island Reds but I have no clue really....one has a much darker head.

    I got it from Big R in Colorado...their website says they use Hoover's Hatchery

    They had them labeled as BR at Big R, but they did have quite a variety of breeds there. Maybe this one got mixed in?

    Hi! I'm new to chickens (this is my first flock, about 5.5 weeks old). I have one barred rock who has a much bigger/red comb (granted I don't have any other BRs to compare it to). It is way more dominant than the others. It likes to "herd" the other ones around. Do you think this is a rooster?
