    I have three Chantecler pullets and they are such sweet birds. They have not started laying yet, but they don't mind the weather at all. They have pretty much no comb or wattles. They are a rare breed from Quebec, and their history is kind of neat. They are a bit flightier than my Orpington...

    Thanks! I don't see any marks on their feet, and it has warmed up again... Lovely Nova Scotia freeze-thaw cycle! Their roost perches are 2"x2" (ladder style), but I have been thinking about reconfiguring them because they all try to crowd on the top perch leaving the lower bar empty...

    Nova Scotia, Canada. Any other East Coasters??

    Hi, I'm on the South Shore of Nova Scotia, Lunenburg County. We have 5 silver laced wyandottes (1 roo 4 hen), 3 Chantecler (hen), a buff Orpington hen, a golden Phoenix roo, a speckled Sussex roo and what was supposed to be a white Phoenix, but appears to be a Plymouth Rock roo. :).
