These ladies are about 17-18 week Wyandottes but the 2 pictured I'm really starting to question. I have no crowing right now, and all 5 are just now starting to get combs and wattles so I'm really stumped.
In the 1st picture, it's the one in front, standing sideways
These "ladies" are 5 weeks old so I know it's way too early to tell, but this one's tail feathers are throwing me off. This one has the longest tail and its very pointy. Also i think the hatchery sent me golden laced instead of blue, but thats beside the point 😅
I'm wanting to buy a Lavender Orpington pullet. Someone sent me this pic and said they have this pullet for sale.
What do you think, pullet or cockerel? She bought them as straight run.
Nope, they are the only pullets they have. They haven't added new chickens to their flock in awhile and they just started getting eggs from them. There is a thread on this website of when people's Australorps started laying so they are not the only ones.
I was hoping to get them back but the new home just said thanks! haha I did end up ordering new chicks and I swear the Australorp I got is looking like a rooster again but I'm definitely going to wait it out longer this time
That's why I rehomed them because everyone here said they had rooster feathers and they both were crowing like crazy. I was just told last night that the new home is now getting pullet eggs from them.
Just wanted to stop back in and let everyone know, my two ended up being pullets and are now laying eggs, AFTER we rehomed them! :(
Those of you still questioning like I was, just wait it out, there is still hope! :)
Well these guys need a new home then lol we can't have roosters in town. I can't post them on the bst forum because I don't have 20 posts. We live in Iowa, any takers? They are free!!
I was always told amd by doing research, you can't go by combs amd wattles for Australorps because hens have very large, red ones too. With time, the roosters will be bigger though.
