    ID for buff hens please

I rescued a pair of 4 year old hens from their previous owner who was going to eat them the following day because they weren’t laying eggs every day like they used to. We don’t mind that as we currently have a pair of 10 year old chickens who still occasionally lay eggs but not daily anymore...

    Please help! Urgent! Bullying Advice

Thanks for your replies so far. There really isn't a meaner hen. Both large hens pick on the silkie, and it doesn't seem that mean, it's more the silkie's reaction to the picking that worries me. My husband pointed out that it's really mainly food aggression. There isn't really a way to...

    Please help! Urgent! Bullying Advice

I just emailed the barred rock lady to ask to postpone the trade for a week. I just need more time to consider this better. I only put the Craigslist ad up yesterday, so this is just moving too fast for me.

Cochin and wyandotte-- 10 weeks old-- Gender guesses?

The cochin is all the same bird. I have been concerned that the tail isn't round enough. It's getting pointy with longer feathers. I don't know anything about wyandottes and that is the only wyandotte we had. I do know that if the partridge cochin is female, it's the worst looking female we got.

Cochin and wyandotte-- 10 weeks old-- Gender guesses?

Partridge cochin: Golden laced wyandotte: Sorry to post just 1 of the wyandotte. After we got done taking pictures of the cochin, we were tired. We had 2 other cochins of the same age and their cushions were much rounder than this bird's. With your guess, please also give me what...

7 wk old standard blue cochin pullet

Beautiful, tame blue cochin pullet. Would make a great 4-H project or possible show or breeding prospect. Since she is only 7 weeks old, I can't guarantee she is female, but all signs point to female at this time. Willing to hold until 12 weeks to be more sure. No shipping. Local pick up or...
