    Enjoyed the article. I have found just carrying a stick commands respect. If my roo came at me, I just pointed the stick at him, no need for anything else.

    Mixing Breeds in the Flock

    We have multiple breeds, Barred rock, buck eye, buff orpington, Easter egger, americana, copper maran, leghorn, they are just 1 big happy family.

    How Can I Get A Hen UN Broody?

    Let her set for 2 weeks, then slip some baby chicks an eggshells in under her during the night.... problem solved. She is happy with her babies and the babies get a mama! She raises and protects them. Win win

    I do like this answer, in all my research this is what i have found, BUT my next question is, "What do you use for corner strength if not pressure treated wood? What holds the corners?' My idea would be pressure treated wood into a hole filled with cement.

    Paranoid and anxiety filled after hawk attack (I'm talking about ME!!)

    Do you find the flashy CDs work? I had a hawk take one of my buff orpington, then come back and get one of my barred rock, so now i don't let them free range, which they love so much, but i don't want to keep feeding the hawks!
