I just used this kitchen thermometer and calibrated it using the ice method. Eventually it wouldn’t go below 1.6 so that was the difference. I put it in the incubator and it came up with 39.6. 39.6-1.6 = 38. That was the temp I set my incubator on. Is that better? Do I now know my temp is okay?

Hey, I’m also from Australia, he does seem to look like a australorp mix but I think you’re on the right track saying jersey giant mix, so you won’t be able to him hens with the exact breed but you can put him other larger breeds! Good luck!
Hey everyone! The araucana has accepted the eggs and is going well with the move! She has only got off once today and I’m very happy! I bought an ecoglow brooder 1200 as I’ve always wanted and needed one, as well as if she doesn’t look after them as she’s only been broody for a few days, I can...
I moved her and the eggs! Hopefully tomorrow morning she stays on them! All I need is for them to hatch and if she doesn’t want to look after them that’s fine with me,!I will.
Thanks for this idea, I’m just worried they’ll break them or disturb her or something. I can move the araucana tonight? I also have chicken wire but the coop is a shed and the nest boxes are connected and they jump on top of the boxes to get to another one (I don’t know why but they like it)...
Thank you so much! What if I move her and she doesn’t stay broody? I’ve done moves before and it usually works. Sussex isn’t broody. Do you strongly advise I move her tonight? I’m really worried, thanks again.
