I have 11 older hens that are pets most of them are 3 years old and some are older (one I think is 8). They lay fairly well, around 5-7 eggs a day, and are almost as good as guineas at eating pests. I usually let them free range so they'll live happy lives until something catches them.
I looked up pictures of chickens with wet fowl pox and I don't think thats what my hen has. Her head is swollen on one side but she don't have any spots on her face, and on the inside of her mouth there is just one big hole filled with yellow cheese looking stuff. Could she have fowl pox without...
