River sand in coop and runs. Scoop poop daily using kitty litter scoop. Five minutes max. Lots of ventilation. Don’t all chicken runs have a papaya and Sapota tree ?

I yes, she will be very distraught, don’t think that your chickens are less than humans, they have feelings too. Also, mama hen will do a better job raising and teaching the baby than anyone else can. Leave them alone !

I hate chickens. End of story.

How about a Polish Rooster ? I’m keeping my hens ! Now, I live in Thailand, so you will have to buy him a first class air ticket to the US. Polish roosters don’t fly coach ! But, he’s worth it . Picture on request .

Thought about that also, but haven’t seen any overhead predators yet. And they do free range when the entry gates are closed. I like your fan ideas, we get a nice daily light breeze coming down the valley and although our temps range from 90 in hot season to fifty lows, I will install fans in...

Now that’s exactly what my wife would do. These are pets not chickens. We have Silkies, Mini Cochins, and Polish, and now because we rescued a local Thai hen who mated with our mini cochin rooster, we have Thaichins. We live in the mountains in northern Thailand, and are just finishing building...

I have 12 eggs in incubator 5 days away from hatch, and a broody mom who did a great job in the past , sitting on 4 eggs for ten days. I would like to move four of the eggs from the incubator, and replace the eggs under the broody hen. The incubator instructions say to quit turning the eggs 3...

I have a silkie sitting on 8 eggs. 6 have hatched, ( that I have seen ) but her nest is really dirty and smelly. Should I move her and clean the nest, and put her back on the possible two remaining eggs ?

Have scraped the yard bare, put in sand, but are keeping all inside and sequestered from each other until they get better. University did autopsy on last one that died, which...
