    Best feeder to prevent waste??

I have 4 chickens (7 wks old) and one in particular beaks food out of the feeder in the picture. I read on the Chicken-Chick website that one solution is to put chicken wire in the feeder, which I did yesterday. But now I'm not so sure they're eating out of the feeder. Should I remove the...

Chickens in Clairemont...is an enclosed run necessary? I have a fenced off section for day use (they're secured in the coop at night), but only let them use it when I'm home (they're 6 weeks). Think it's fairly safe to let them use the yard when I'm not home? Part of it is covered by lattice...

    changing feed brand/type

First time chicken owner. My chicks are 6 weeks old. They've been on the brand of crumble they were fed where they hatched. Would like to change to Scratch N Peck starter/grower. Do I approach it the same way I would with a dog or cat—changing it a bit at at time? Thanks for the help!

Excellent! Mine are in the bathtub (!), and although I take them outside to a pen after work, but some days it's dark before I get home. I'm thinking they would like more room for their chicken games. :) Thanks for the input!

Yes, I have an outdoor outlet and a heavy duty extension cord I can use to put the Brinsea in the coop. Thanks for the idea!

    Weird pecking behavior?

(Jackieperk was asking about my chicks) I'm using a kiddie pool for the brooder, and it's bright pink... (only color they had and I didn't stop to think). Could they be pecking because of the color? We could drape a sheet over the sides to hide the color...
