I'm on my third coop, and my husband has built them all. I prefer white porch paint on the inside floor of my coops. Poop doesn't stick to it very much (I also use pine chips on the floor, which I change monthly, and a corrugated plastic "poop catcher" under the roosts) and I can scrub it down...
I raised hens for eggs for 15 years on our 5 acre property. We gave the flock away to friends and the coop to our son's family when we moved. Now I am ready to re-start my flock and my husband is building me a smaller coop for our soon-to-be flock of 4-6 hens.
