    I am not familiar with serama chickens but I bet the silkies would nurture any egg. I have a variety of hens, and the silkies sit on all sizes and shapes of eggs, including a large egg from the Brahma. It is cute, they can barely get the egg underneath to keep it warm.

    My worst nightmare! My heart breaks for all of you who lost chickens to these predators. Do weasels come out in the day? Do they dig holes? I have hardware cloth wrapped around everything for night but in the day they have some wood fencing with hardware cloth covering the top for hawks...

    What is your friendliest Chicken? What breed is it?

    Hi, This is my first post. All my 'girls' are loving and friendly but Jazz, my black silkie, loves to ride in my pocket when I do chores, we watch the news together. She is forever underfoot and gently pulls at my pant leg to let me know she wants to be picked up.
