    Diamond Dove Sicknesses

I just wanted to give a few updates! Martha and Wilson are healthy now, I gave them the corrid mix for about a week and a half or so. Their poops cleared up and they seem to be very healthy! And... An egg!! So excited!

    Diamond Dove Sicknesses

Thank you HumbleHen! I will give it to them right away! I'll try to look it up, loftkeeper. It's hard to find any reliable info on DD's (diamonddove.info is the main site, but the owner is unable to keep it updated...).

    Diamond Dove Sicknesses

Okay, I finally got some corid. She is still okay but still having greenish poops. Now her mate is too, I'm going to treat him too since he probably does have it. Now the problem is giving it to them. How should I mix it? I did find a guide on here, but it's for chickens who are much bigger...

    Diamond Dove Sicknesses

Thanks. I've moved her so I can check on her stools. Odd update... she's been having green poops too. She's stopped the red. The green poops started two days ago, but I didn't know who's it was. I haven't got a picture yet, but it's different from regular poops. I think it's possible it's...

    Diamond Dove Sicknesses

Here is a picture. Notice it's the liquid that's red. I don't know if the solids are supposed to be that color.

    Diamond Dove Sicknesses

My doves came from PetSmart. I had been looking for DD's for a while but this was the only place I could find them. A few (Ringneck) dove breeders used to breed them but they have stopped. I know Pet Smart isn't the best place to get a bird... I am feeding them a finch mix with some dove mix...

    Diamond Dove Sicknesses

Oops, I should have clarified. The PetSmart doves were the ones with the dark red poop. Not my dove, her poop is still a lighter red. I couldn't find anything on poops or even sicknesses for Diamond Doves, just some treatments. I think when I get home I'll put her back in her hospital cage. Is...

    Diamond Dove Sicknesses

Thanks for replying! Unfortunately her red stools have come back, and there are also now these dark green stools (I'm not sure it's her, it could be the male). The liquid and solids are a dark emerald green, with a small bit of white. I thought it was the food they were eating earlier before I...

    North Carolina

Hi guys! I don't own any chickens but it's nice to know there's other bird owners around NC! Would anyone, by chance, happen to have some diamond doves? I'm casually looking for more (I'm just interested in what's around). I'm 30 minutes from Charlotte.

    Diamond Dove Sicknesses

Hi guys! So I have a pair of DD's, Martha and Wilson. To my knowledge, Martha has laid eggs before, but not for me yet. I've had them for almost a month and got them from a PetSmart (as far as I know, there aren't any DD breeders around me). Anyways, they live in a large cage that allows...

    Button Quail Beak Problems

The avian vet only takes more of exotics- parrots, finches, etc. She says she can't do chickens (and no quail either). I tought so too. She doesn't like me near her face but I'll try to see if it's actually food or not. I think it's hard, though. I'll try to find someone who has quail; I got...

    Button Quail Beak Problems

Hello everyone, I have a single hen Button Quail, after her friend (another female) died of old age. She's been alone ever since, but I've thought about getting another quail for her. My main concern is her beak- it is starting to grow a little long. The top mandible anyways. Also, I'm...

    Some Button Quail questions

Thank you again! I emailed the lady at zebrafinch.com and she ID'd my white button as a female (red breasted tuxedo). So no chicks for me, I guess! And I'm looking into quite a few button books, thank you for the suggestion.

    Some Button Quail questions

Update- I checked the white one, but no reddish feathers, only white underneath (he was a bit ruffled when I put him back in the cage, lol, and the female went over to cuddle him). I will try with mealworms later!
