MAY 10 2020
It's been a tough year to get Salmonella Pullorum antigen. I've received word from the manufacturer to expect my shipment by the end of May. This antigen will have a 2021 expiration.
**GET ON THE WAITING LIST** Thank you for your patience.
Hello BYC!
Salmonella Pullorum Antigen...
I will not be buying antigen this year. The waiting list is cancelled, and I am not taking any more reservations. Check with your state agriculture department for what their plan B is.
In my opinion, this whole ordeal is proven to be a racket. If expired antigen is reliable, there should...
3/8/2019 Antigen is NOT yet available from the manufacturer. I was asked to call back at the end of this month (March) and unless my back order is filled, I will not know more until then. Sorry if any of my updates are repetitive, I have had lots of inquiries, and not sure who I've already told...
As of 2/21 there is still no movement on the manufacturing of Pullorum Antigen Stain. It is still pending FDA approval. Open spots available on my waiting list.
It can be tough having a small flock. If it were me, I would replace the sex links and let Penny be happy with the buff in the meantime. Bravo treating the bumblefoot. For me, having good or bad chickens in the house can get old real fast. :)
Hello BYC,
In 2018 there was a manufacture shortage of antigen for Pullorum testing. The government shutdown has delayed manufacturing even further. This year I plan to continue testing, and will have extra antigen to share as I have in the past.
Hopefully your exhibitions were able to...
**UPDATE TO SHORTAGE OF PULLORUM ANTIGEN** 01/27/2019
It's been a tough year to get Salmonella Pullorum antigen. The government shutdown did not help this issue either. A very small batch was distributed with a JUNE 2019 exp. I did not purchase this antigen, but will be PURCHASING/SHARING 2020...
Sorry for a slow reply. I do not recommend purchasing Pullorum Antigen prior to becoming certified because it expires, and if it doesn't work out for you to take the class in time, it is money wasted.
It is mostly people involved in 4H purchasing antigen because birds in exhibition are...
Correction- I have 650 test drops left. At the time of the last post I had sold 250 test drops. I received an email from Mich Dept of Agriculture that there is a national shortage of antigen available this year. Please share if you know of anyone needing antigen. Thanks
Antigen is still available. I have 250 test drops left. There will also be a small bottle at the end of less than 50 drops. Each sold bottle gets extra drops, excluding the last bottle sold. Thanks
This information has been proven incorrect by Texas A&M Poultry Division. Shipping is available to Texas. The ability to trace any sold antigen back to the original batch/bottle meets NPIP requirements.
