Ok so mine a "meat spot". I understand now. Thank you very much for clearing that up for me and putting me at ease. I appreciate the time you took to answer for me, thanks!
So less humidity is better it seems? First time I've done this. Should I flip the eggs every single day or is once every several days ok?
Thanks for all this input.
I forgot to refill the water for the humidity, but they were in a very humid room and it was a rainy day. The water was probably out for almost 24 hours, maybe less. Would they still be considered viable or dead? This is day 5 or 6.
Also, I am only flipped the eggs upside down every 2 days when...
the red one was supposed to be a hen, came out with a big comb and ears, different from her sisters. The blue boy is an australorp. Here are her sisters.
And
So is she really a hen??
I thought too that maybe because the hens were a bit upset I was holding them, the cockerel thought I was "attacking" the hens and he wanted to help me attack them... gosh, what a silly bird. I thought he liked his girls but then if I hold the hens he wants to fight them lol.
I am keeping this...

Two months ago I also had 2 ducklings in with my 6 chicks and had to add nutritional yeast to the chick starter because it did not have the added niacin that the ducks needed. I switched them over at 4 weeks to a non-gmo organic grower pellet that was nutritionally made specifically for ducks...
Mine are almost 4 weeks old too. I have noticed two different comb styles... and have noticed since they were way younger. Is this typical of the breed? If the wider combs are males then I have 4 males and 2 females :( or do some female chicks have this style comb?
is it too difficult to tell if that's a lavender or a blue ameraucana? lady was selling "lavender araucana".... >.>;
I asked her about the hen but no reply yet.
Is it unusual for a blue wheaten cockerel to have a white head at 8 weeks? if he bred to true females would the chances of the chicks coming out proper be 50%?
So I've learned "wild type" birds come from crossing two purebred ameraucana's that don't colour match... like black with wheaten...
