Haha, so true... they can be mean things - great for home security, better than our dog! But they are fun to have around none the less, so we'll wait and see who's who :)

Thanks so much for your reply! My son's popped up this video (and also corrected me that the goose is an emden, not a pilgrim - woops!) It could be a happy cooing, its just sounds quite different than the others you can hear chirruping in the background. Thanks again :)

Our 4mnth old pilgrim goose is making a funny noise, if I'm to describe it it sounds a bit like a cow mooing (I have a video, but dont think I can upload it here), he/she's probably been doing it for nearly a week. It may be completely normal, its just that the others have more of a high pitch...

Thanks for your reply! Sorry for my late one.... We only have the 1 4mth old goose, we've got a few more littler ones on the way to keep her company but they don't hang out together yet. Perhaps I'll keep an eye on it and make sure it's not bothering her or growing, and if it does I'll pop her...

We're new to poultry and water fowl keeping, and want to make sure they're all healthy! Is this black-ish growth anything to be concerned about on our 4mnth old goose? Maybe bumblefoot? It doesn't seem to come off with water and gentle rubbing. We're base in SE Qld, Australia.
