I got this chicken this year as a chick, she was supposed to be an Easter egger. She just started laying a brown regular colored egg last week. Does anyone know what she is or why her eggs aren’t green or blue?
I was told these 2 brown chicks were blue laced red wyandottes when I bought them as babies. They both looked similar then, now one looks like my Easter egger and the other is a Wyandotte , but not sure what kind. Also if anyone has any ideas about the sex of the black polish chick I’d like help...
Our cuckoo Maran hatched these 4 babies in early/ mid June. Rooster is a mix, but two were welsummer eggs, one buff Orpington and one cuckoo Maran (we think). Question is, do we have all hens or some roos and where did the little bright yellow legs come from in our dark one? None of our other...
Hello Everyone,
I recently decided to add 6 new chicks to my flock. I am currently brooding them inside, away from my older girls. I have 2 Autralorps, 1 blue sapphire, 1 black sex-link and 2 cuckoo marans. The problem I'm having is that the smaller Cuckoo Maran is constantly trying to peck the...
I got these two back in June. I believe they are 14-15 weeks old and I'v tried to find out what gender they are, but all the information I've looked has been confusing. What do you all think? Blue band is Harley and no band is Henrietta/Henrys
So as long as they are only dropping soft, rubbery eggs I shouldn’t worry? I am feeding them layer feed and egg shells and oyster shells are out as an option. The good layer loves them.
I do have fake eggs in their nesting boxes, but they do free range. I wasn't considering that a factor (except with the good layer) because the nest boxes are near the roosts and they are laying in the coop on the roosts. I'll try to keep them in for a few days and see if that doesn't do the trick.
Hey Everyone,
One of my girls started laying three weeks ago and is great about depositing her egg under the same tree everyday. Recently, I think, two others have begun "laying". A few mornings this week I have found rubbery, broken eggs at the bottom of their overnight roost. I have no idea...
