    My brooder isn't homemade per say but I took and old pet store display case for puppies and added a heat lamp. .. works wonderful and they don't out grow it Before they go outside

    Yes she does have some white tail feathers... well a few do. .. I'm deFinitely new to the terminology for all this stuff so thank you. . My biggest concern is that most my chicks are black and I was hoping I'm getting a good mix of males and females... to be honest I don't know for positive that...

    I am new from Ohio. . Love this site you guys answer all my questions. We have been keeping chickens a little over a year now and have learned A LOT.. we keep rhode island hens and a barred rock roo and of course their babies ;) happy to be here

    The black babies are growing to be black barred and the yellow are mostly white so far

    That actually makes me happy lol. .. most of my chicks are Black...1 in 4 are yellow. .I got my hens from tsc as babies and my roo from a hatchery selling babies at a flea market so it's hard to say who is pure

    I'm crossing abarred rock roo with a rhode island hen and getting yellow chicks and black chicks. Does anybody know if they auto sex the same as when the parents s are reversed?
