I have 15 girls. The run is 20x20 and there is also an 8x8 area under the coop.
Can I use woodchips from a commercial tree company or do you purchase from a retailer?

I have been using straw/ leaves in the run for 2 years now but this year it has gotten really bad with odor. Trying to determine what is the best product to keep odors low and control the mud situation(1/3 of run is not covered)but not have a lot of work to clean as I have some medical issues...
It is a good problem to have but, this year they picked up laying earlier than the last few years.
I do give some away, but am trying to keep some for when they slow down in the fall/winter.

I was wondering what everyone does when they have an over abundance of eggs? I have some many now and was considering dehydrating but wasn't sure if there were some other ways to preserve them.

No, I have not tried to pry it off yet. There is a slight crack where it starts to curve over at the top so thinking it will just snap right off. Am going to "dissect" it in the morning and will post what I find.
