    Is this vent gleet?

There is a constant, yellowish discharge. Not sure when her last egg was being I have 14 girls. She has not laid since Friday though that I know since I brought her in to separate her from the crew. Crop is emptying. Have been doing Epsom salt soaks and treating with miconazole and manuka...

    Is this vent gleet?

My girl started having pasty, whitish/yellow poo stuck to her feathers on Friday with an awful smell and would range for a bit and just stop and stand still. Brought her in and have been cleaning her up, soaking her in Epsom salt water and applying miconazole to vent area. Have also been...

What is the best base for in the run?

I have 15 girls. The run is 20x20 and there is also an 8x8 area under the coop. Can I use woodchips from a commercial tree company or do you purchase from a retailer? Was wondering about adding some peat also?

I have been watching some videos on water glassing. Thinking about trying it out, just not too sure on...

    Lots of Eggs

I was wondering what everyone does when they have an over abundance of eggs? I have some many now and was considering dehydrating but wasn't sure if there were some other ways to preserve them.

    Crazy looking egg

@aart No, I have not tried to pry it off yet. There is a slight crack where it starts to curve over at the top so thinking it will just snap right off. Am going to "dissect" it in the morning and will post what I find.

    Crazy looking egg

Me too. The little curly part on top is hard like the rest of the shell.

    Crazy looking egg

Was wondering if anyone could tell me why one of my girls would lay an egg like this? This is the first time I have seen anything like this.
