I just tried the tough love route, but I ended up caving in to their cries. All our chicks are 9 weeks old, and we had our first 80 degree day today, so I figured it was a good time to cut them off from the 250 watt red lamp. I never heard them peeping so much and so loud as they did tonight...

I would like to weigh in on this! I am actually a very strict vegetarian (vegan when I go out). I never eat meat or dairy, but I will eat eggs from hens that I actually know. In other words, I only eat eggs from home. When I first decided to become vegan, it was on principle to boycott factory...
Im definitely not a professional, but ive seen on this forum somewhere that someone needed to drain fluid, and they iced it first to make it more numb. If you do that i would probably use a very small sterilized needle. Neosporin is good for preventing further infection, but make sure that it is...

R.I.P little trixie
I watched her for a bit today, and it seems that it is irritating her so she keeps scratching at it. Is there a way to stop her from doing that? mini eye-patch, leg splints, cones like dogs and cats get? Any ideas?
We have a 3 day old chick that started with a small scab on her top eyelid but she was still able to open her eye a little bit. She was the smallest chick so she was getting trampled and pecked at, so we separated her with 1 other small chick who was getting pecked at. After the first night when...
