    Broken eggs under roosting bar new layers

    The last 2 mornings I have found broken egg in coop,this morning it was directly under roosting bar, I have 2 Buff Orpingtons that recently started to lay,we have 2 nesting boxes so I know that’s adequate and they do go in nest boxes and eggs being laid in nesting boxes, any ideas?

    Raised Bump above eye

    One of my 8 week old Buff Orpingtons has a small raised bump just above her eye, started on Feb 28th, eating and acting like it’s not bothering her, feathers are starting to fill in in her head, what could the bump be? could it be an ingrown feather possibly?

    Do 7 week old chicks need access to water in coop at night?

    Our Buff Orpingtons are now 7 weeks old and we put them in a coop at night, do they need access to water in coop at night? Just transitioned them to the no waste feeder this morning, adding the new waterer this afternoon

    Saturday Lime for run?

    Our run for our chickens that are 6 weeks old sits on grass, is it ok to spread Saturday Lime lightly over the grass where their run sits? I’ve heard it helps with deodorizing and repelling mites ants etc
