Got my final count. Last chick hatched this morning. Official count is 8 live chicks that made it through the Easter Crash of 2016. I originally set 42 eggs with 38 making it to lock down. Cats knocked my bator off the countertop on day 21 and we lost at least 24 fully formed chicks to...- sbarab

Update on crashed incubator. Of the 21 eggs that we saved from the wreckage, we have 7 fluffy chicks that made it out of the incubator. 4 more hatched that didn't make it and a couple more that were peeping in the shell after the crash that didn't hatch. Chick hatching update. Day 22. Came home to the incubator crashed upside down on the living room floor. 14 chicks mostly still in the shells dead. Plus one undeveloped and 2 quitters that were grape sized. There are 21 eggs that we placed back into the incubator. Several are still peeping...- sbarab

Eggs are heading to lockdown tonight. Got the brooder all set up in the hen house today with 3 rouen ducklings I couldn't bear to leave at Tractor Supply. Prepping for hatch on Sunday. Anyone find a good way to separate eggs in their bator? I've got some purebred eggs I'd like to keep...- sbarab

Thanks to the great ladies who have helped me replace the batch of eggs I ruined this morning. Easter hatch along take 2. Set 42 more eggs. English Orphingtons ( black mottled, blue, black and splash), EEs, Olive Eggers, Splash Marans, Langershan, and barn yard mix.- sbarab

Thanks for sharing. I think it was just too long. 11:30 pm - 8:15am with temp spike to 127 degrees. I am going to cut my losses and toss these beautiful marans and English orphington eggs.
