    My last clutch produced 4 black, 4 blue, 3 white and 1 silver Swedish.

    My drakes are Blues and my ducks are Blues and Blacks. My Black Swedish just hatched a clutch of 11, but 3 ducklings are pure yellow! Can you explain that for me?

    Duckling hatching naturally under mom help

    We had a duck who abandoned her nest, following a possum infiltration. We were able to salvage 9 and incubated them until they hatched over the last 72 hours. Misting them can help, but if you disrupt them, she may abandon the nest. My experience says they can take up to 48 hours between first...

    HI BYC Family!

    My daughter and I have been raising chickens - Easter Eggers, Frizzles, Mystique Marans, LI Reds, Barred Rock - Swedish ducks, and Guinneas for about 18 months, now. We also raise rabbits, but that's a different group. I look forward to sharing and learning with the group.

    Blue Swedish mix? Yellow duckling with blue beak.

    I have Swedish blue drakes and Swedish blue and black hens... I just ended up with a mix of black, grey and yellow ducklings this week!! I've never heard of Swedish yellow being offspring of blacks and blues... might they become silver?
