Would really appreciate some help sexing this black copper maran (10weeks)

Thanks! All of our previous roosters were rowing by this point, but this one is quiet. To help me on what to look for, what makes you think it’s a rooster?

I hear you! Love the beach, and like being near the water. We just got my 70+ yr old parents to move from Texas to Greenville , so likely not making any changes soon. She does eat chicken, just doesn’t like the idea of eating what she’s raised/gotten attached to. She went out to a friend of ours...

Ha! Thanks! My wife wouldn't stand for that, so if this doesn’t work out, we will have to find a good home. she’s really into the fact that we got heritage breeds (white faced Spanish in particular). We were just down near Beaufort and Savannah, it’s a beautiful area. Is that around where y’all...

Bachelor pad - is it a lost cause?

Thanks so much for the detailed response! I appreciate the dose of reality. I have half of the run covered with tarp and half open, they just were in the open region when I took the pictures. We don’t have any hens at this point, all four had supposedly been sexed and were sold as pullets. we...

Breeder sold their business a few weeks after we bought them… but, I can check with new owner to see if they need any of them. Thanks for the idea!

Bachelor pad - is it a lost cause?

We ended up with four beautiful 15 week old cockerels of different breeds (Orpington, ameraucana, Copper Maran, and white faced Spanish) unintentionally, and were hoping we could find a way to keep them as a “bachelor pad” with crow collars, since we’re in a neighborhood. they’ve been together...

Thank y’all! Looks like we’re 4/4 with roosters. Our first thought is to do a bachelor pad with crow collars, since we’re in the city

15 week old Ameraucana - roo?

Do y’all think this sweet bird is a roo? Tiny comb, but, starting to look like saddle feathers to me…

    15 week old orpington

Thank you! I appreciate it, I’m afraid we ended up with 4/4 cockerels from our supposed pullets , bachelor pad tine

    15 week old orpington

What are your guesses? They were supposed to be a pulley, and is incredibly docile, but, the feathers are starting to look a bit suspicious!

Hi! Greenville, SC here. My family got some day old chicks from a local breeder near here in May, looks like we have more roosters than we planned (they were supposedly pullets…) we’re at 15 weeks now and trying to figure out where we’re headed!
